The Thematic Apperception Test, or TAT, is a projective test in which people express their inner feelings and interests through the stories they make up about ambiguous scenes. These type of tests are usually analyzed by the way that people tell their stories. The therapist usually scores the story by the intensity of conflict in the story, and whether or not the story ends on a positive or negative note.
In this picture, I see a little boy sitting on his window on a calm Spring night. He is simply unable to fall asleep so he opens the window to catch some fresh air. After opening the window, he realizes that tonight the moon is in full bloom. He is mesmerized, and stares at the full moon, and is astonished by all of the beautiful moonlight that it casts over his entire town.
In this picture, I see a couple who has just faced a tragedy. The wife walks into the room to see that her husband, who had been sick for awhile, has passed away. Unable to bear this sight, she steps outside and breaks down into tears.

In this picture, I see men asleep on the bare ground after a long day at work. They are all tired from herding the cattle, and they all fell asleep after their afternoon lunch. They do not realize that their boss is soon on his way to make sure that they are all back to work.
