Double-Blind Study

This video shows a double-blind study in which researchers of a company gave 80 random subjects either the medication they are developing or an identical medication. After the eight week study, it was shown that the medication they were producing, NutraTek, provided better treatment. The researchers wanted to do a double-blind study, because they believe that is the golden standard in proving that a treatment is truly effective, since neither the subjects nor the experimenters are aware of which group is the control group and which group is the experimental group.

  1. Isn't that also like a placebo because they gave the people one type of medicine and the people thought it was the right one and took it. Later it turned out to be better. Isn't that Placebo effect?
